Welcome to the Lakers Select!
Minnesota's premier girl's lacrosse club program.
----------------
The Lakers Select girl's lacrosse program was established in 2007 as the first girl's lacrosse travel club program in Minnesota! The Lakers Select program provides players with premier training to advance their lacrosse skills, positive leadership, and future opportunities in the sport. In the Lakers Select program students-athletes and coaches:
-
compete at the highest level with advanced skills and knowledge;
-
work hard to further develop in sport performance;
-
play with integrity and sportsmanship;
-
strive for excellence; and
-
influence others positively through the power of teamwork.
We take great pride in bringing together excellent lacrosse players from 30 different communities in Minnesota to compete and train at the highest level! We train these student-athletes with an extremely talented core coaching staff of 12 field coaches and 2 goalie coaches who are experienced teachers of the skills and strategy of the game (at the youth - collegiate level), who are motivators on and off of the field, and who are dedicated to serving as mentors to our players.

posted 10/02/2012 Congratulations to Coach KK, Kathyrn Knippenberg, on her recent hire as the Women's lacrosse coach at Augsburg College, making her the first NCAA College lacrosse coach (men or women) in the state.
Augsburg College is the first college in MN to add varsity lacrosse and this gives the MN players another great option for college lacrosse.
Coach KK has been a MN Lakers Select coach for 4 years and will continue in that role moving forward. KK played lacrosse for Hopkins High School, where she was a star defender and a team captain. She then went on to play for the University of Minnesota where she was a team captain and President of the club lacrosse team. Congratulations KK!
